The Women's Championship is a championship originally designed for the women of the SmackDown brand to compete for, it was introduced at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs event. As part of the 2010 WWE Draft, it was swapped with the Diva's Championship, becoming the official womens division championship of the RAW brand.

Originally, the Women's Championship was introduced as a womens division championship to the SmackDown brand.
On March 21st, the championship was officially traded from SmackDown to RAW when champion Michelle McCool was drafted as part of the 2010 WWE Draft.
On November20th 2011, the championship was officially merged into the Diva's Championship upon Lita defeating Tiny Shiny at Survivor Series in a championship unification match.
