Rob Van Dam made his WTX Universe debut in a Triple Threat Match on July 11th 2012, losing to Hulk Hogan. The match also featured Chris Jericho. Van Dam then competed in a 6-man battle royal at Night of Champions for the United States Championship, however, it was won by Kurt Angle.
Light Heavyweight Champion & Move to SmackDown (2013-2014)
At WrestleMania II, Van Dam lost the Cruiserweight Championship to X-Pac in a Championship Scramble Match. At Backlash, Van Dam defeated X-Pac to win the Light Heavyweight Championship, his first championship in the WTX Universe.
Following the ECW takeover of NXT, Rob Van Dam was assigned to be guest referee for an NXT Championship Match at Cyber Sunday between Samoa Joe & CM Punk, Van Dam betrayed ECW at the event, costing Punk his championship to Joe. Van Dam later commented that the reason he did so was because he wanted to "let sleeping dogs lie" and not resurrect ECW alongside his former allies.
Return to Raw & Departure (2016)
On May 30th, Van Dam was scheduled to take part in the Joker's Wild Tournament, being randomly paired with Chris Jericho. The match never took place however, as Van Dam was released from his contract before the show.
