The show featured seven matches, beginning with the NXT Tag Team Championship match, as the recently debuted Son of Havoc & Vance Archer faced off against the champions Los Guerreros. The second match of the night saw Christian, who was being targetted 2-on-1, challenge both Brodus Clay & Ethan Carter III to a No DQ Handicap Match to attempt getting revenge. In the third match, The Great Destroyer faced Kurt Angle after continually attacking Angle in prior weeks, attempting to use the former United States Champion as a stepping stone to get closer to the NXT Championship.
The fourth match of the night saw a rematch between the NXT Women's Championship tournament finalists, as the champion Maryse defended against Michelle McCool, who Maryse defeated in the tournament final. The fifth match was a 6-Man Elimination Match in which all six participants were to be revealed at the event itself, with the winner becoming the first Television Champion. The semi-main event was an open challenge from Cesaro, who had been doing open challenges for his Intercontinental Championship in prior weeks. In the main event, Batista was set to defend against Kevin Owens, who defeated the former contender Stone Cold on the previous weeks NXT to earn his shot.
In the opening matchup, Son of Havoc & Vance Archer won the NXT Tag Team Championship from Los Guerreros, after Havoc pinned Chavo Guerrero. In the second match, Christian lost to Brodus Clay & EC3 defeated Christian despite his efforts and utilization of the No DQ rule. The third match saw The Great Destroyer continue his momentum by defeating Kurt Angle. In the fourth match, Michelle McCool defeated Maryse, ending Maryse's short reign, this also marked McCool becoming the first women's Grand Slam Champion, a she had previously held the Women's Championship & Diva's Championship.
In the fifth match of the night, D-Train won the Television Championship, defeating the surprise participants, Damien Sandow, Sheamus, Seth Rollins, Matt Hardy & Rusev, last defeating Rollins. In the semi-main event, Cesaro's open challenge was answered by Randy Savage, who Cesaro went on to retain against. In the main event, Batista retained against Kevin Owens in a competitive matchup to continnue his lengthy NXT Championship reign.
