Matt Sydal is a member of the NXT roster as of 2016. He has won four championships throughout his career in the WTX Universe as he is a former three time NXT Tag Team Champion and WWE Tag Team Champion with Sami Zayn under the team name of Boune In-Zayn, a record setting number of reigns.


Debut (2012-2014)

Evan Bourne made his WTX Universe debut on the 30th April 2012 edition of Raw teaming with Kofi Kingston and losing to the team of Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd.

At King of the Ring, Bourne competed in a 6-Man Battle Royal for the Cruiserweight Championship, being eliminated last from the match by Xavier Woods.

Bourne In-Zayn (2014-2015)

On July 2nd, NXT Tag Team Champions MVP & Shelton Benjamin issued an open challenge, with Bourne teaming with Sami Zayn as Bourne In-Zayn accepting the challenge, they defeated the champions to win their first championship together.

At SummerSlam, Bourne In-Zayn lost their championship to the team of AJ Styles & Raven, known as The FallenAt Survivor Series, Bourne In-Zayn teamed with NXT Champion Kofi Kingston in a Traditional Survivor Series Match against The Fallen, Kingston won the match for the team last pinning Batista with outside help from Big E, this victory earned Bourne In-Zayn another opportunity at the NXT Tag Team Championship. At NXT Arrival, Bourne In-Zayn defeated The Fallen to recapture the NXT Tag Team Championship. On February 18th, Bourne In-Zayn lost the championship to Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel.

At WrestleMania IV, they won the championships a third time, defeating Slater & Gabriel in a Steel Cage Match.

Draft to SmackDown (2015)

In April of 2015, Bourne was drafted from NXT to SmackDown as part of the 2015 Supplemental Draft, exchanging his NXT Tag Team Championship for the WWE Tag Team Championship in the process. At Judgment Day  they quickly lost the championship to Jeri-Show in an impromptu match after Jeri-Show attacked and replaced The Flock. On July 9th, Evan Bourne and Sami Zayn agreed to go solo, ending their team.

Return to NXT (2016-present)

On July 6th, Bourne made his return to the WTX Universe under the new name, Matt Sydal. He competed in a Four for Fortune match, with the winner earning a Cruiserweight Championship match at TakeOver: Brooklyn. He avoided being eliminated as Jeff Hardy pinned Johnny Mundo whilst Sydal faced Tyson Kidd on the outside.
