First Royal Rumble Winner and World Heavyweight Champion (2012)
On January 29th 2012 Edge made his WTX Universe debut as the #30 and final entrant in the 2012 Royal Rumble. He last eliminated The Miz who had been in since #5 and eliminated a record total of 19 superstars before being eliminated by Edge. Edge would then be given the right to face either the WWE Champion or the World Heavyweight Champion at the WrestleMania XXVII pay-per-view event.
He was given his first opportunity at a world championship inside the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber at the PPV, Elimination Chamber 2012, he however was unsuccessful in winning the championship as the man he would go on to face at WrestleMania XXVII, The Rock, would win the match. At WrestleMania Edge got revenge as he defeated The Rock in a Last Man Standing main event to win his first World Heavyweight Championship.
Edge only held the championship until the April 27th 2012 edition of SmackDown in which Big Show cashed in his Money in The Bank contract and defeated Edge to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. At Extreme Rules Edge got his rematch against Big Show inside of Hell in a Cell with Edge regaining his World Heavyweight Championship in a brutal back and forth match.
Edge next defended his championship at No Way Out in a Fatal 4-Way Hell in a Cell Match, losing the championship to Brock Lesnar whom Edge defeated upon Lesnar's debut. The match also featured Randy Orton & Eddie Guerrero. At Night of Champions, Edge competed for the championship, losing to retaining champion Eddie Guerrero in a championship scramble match.
On the November 23rd edition of SmackDown, Edge competed in a Triple Threat Match with Brock Lesnar & The Rock to determine the new contender for Randy Orton's World Heavyweight Championship, the match was won by Edge following a Spear to The Rock. Edge then went on to defeat Randy Orton at TLC to become World Heavyweight Champion for the third time. Edge then retained in their rematch at Royal Rumble.
Feud with Christian, Draft to RAW, WWE Champion & Rated RKO (2013)
On the Raw following Elimination Chamber, Edge appeared as a special guest to face WWE Champion Kane in a champion vs. champion match, in which Christian had announced he would decide his WrestleMania II opponent following the match. The match was interrupted before it started by Kevin Thorn, who took out both champions. The following Friday on SmackDown, Kane & Edge were scheduled to face Thorn in a Handicap Match, however, the match was changed to a Tag Team Match when it was revealed that Thorn had been added to The Brood, with Edge being removed. Thorn then teamed with Christian and defeated Edge & Kane. Following this, Christian announced that he would face his former tag team partner, Edge, for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania II. At WrestleMania, Edge then lost the championship to Christian. Edge was then drafted to Raw, threatening to take the championship back from Christian and over to Raw, at Backlash, Edge defeated Christian to regain the championship, but then lost to Shelton Benjamin, who cashed in Money in the Bank, losing the championship.
At Night of Champions, Edge defended the championship successfully once again, defeating Daniel Bryan, after which, Dolph Ziggler cashed in Money in the Bank and defeated Edge for the WWE Championship. On October 8th, Edge teamed with surprise partner Randy Orton, the two teamed Rated RKO and defeated Team D-Z in the main event. At Over The Limit, Edge had his rematch with Ziggler alongside Bryan, with Bryan winning the match via submission over Ziggler.
At Survivor Series, Edge moved on from the championship to team with The Undertaker & Kane, defeating the trio The Wyatt Family in a traditional Survivor Series match. At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Edge competed for the WWE Championship in a TLC Match, losing the match to tag team partner Randy Orton.
King of the Ring Winner (2014)
At King of the Ring, Edge competed in and won the King of the Ring tournament, making him the second ever winner, he then was given a WWE Championship main event match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania III. At WrestleMania, Edge faced The Undertaker and lost in an I Quit Match. After a period of focusing more on singles competition, Rated RKO accepted the open challenge of The Disciples of Darkness at Backlash, defeating them to win the World Tag Team Championship. They held the championship for only a short period of time however, as they lost the championship to The Shield at Money in the Bank in June.
At SummerSlam, Edge got an opportunity at Wade Barrett's World Heavyweight Championship, however, the match also featured The Rock, as Rock defeated Edge on the RAW prior to the event to qualify for the match. At the event, Edge hit The Rock with a Rock Bottom, after which Barrett immediately caught Edge into a Wasteland, pinning Edge for the retention.
At Vengeance, Rated RKO faced Team D-Z, defeating the team on their one-night-only reunion.
Split from Rated RKO & Return to SmackDown (2015)
On January 12th, Rated RKO split up when Orton walked out on Edge during a match for the World Tag Team Championship, after which Edge chased Orton to the back. At Royal Rumble, the two faced off, with Edge defeating Orton via submission. At WrestleMania IV, Edge competed for the World Heavyweight Championship, losing to Tyler Breeze after getting hit with a Rock Bottom by The Rock, who then had his pin stolen by Breeze. On April 3rd, Edge was drafted from RAW to SmackDown as part of the 2015 Draft. At No Mercy, they got a title opportunity, losing the 20 minute matchup. At Survivor Series, they got another opportunity at the championship, losing to Jeri-Show once again.
WWE Tag Team Champion with Christian & Return to Raw (2016)
In 2016, Edge & Christian continued their pursuit of the WWE Tag Team Championships, now held by Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. Edge & Christian challenged the team of Big Show & Kane, who were next in line for the championship, defeating the two and making themselves top contenders for Harper & Rowan's championships. The team challenged Harper & Rowan for the championships at King of the Ring, where they dominated until Harper got the disqualification to keep the championships. A rematch was set for WrestleMania V, where the championships would once again be on the line in an Extreme Rules Match, meaning the champions could not get themselves disqualified. At WrestleMania, Edge & Christian won their first tag team championships, with Christian pinning Erick Rowan after a Killswitch.
After WrestleMania, the WWE Tag Team Champions were drafted to Raw, bringing the championship to Raw for the first time with them. Edge & Christian were immediately booked to face Intercontinental Champion, Ric Flair as well as WWE Champion, Triple H, in a tag team match, which saw Triple H & Flair defeat the WWE Tag Team Champions. It was then announced that at Backlash, Edge & Chrsitian would face Erick Rowan & Luke Harper (who were also drafted to Raw), one last time for the championships. At Backlash, Edge & Christian manipulated Rowan & Harper to retain their championship, potentially causing the team to split up. Due to the teams inactivity, Edge & Christian were made to defend their championship on the June 27th edition of RAW, the team faced and retained against Blood Brothers.
Intercontinental Champion (2016-2017)
At Roadblock, Edge defended his championship once again, defeating The Miz in a quick match off of a Spear. On the December 28th edition of RAW, Edge faced and defeated Enzo Amore to qualify for the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. On the first RAW of 2017, Edge was put into an impromptu championship defence featuring three other participants confirmed for the Royal Rumble, Edge lost the championship in the four way as Joey Ryan pinned Sheamus whilst Edge was fighting Samoa Joe on the outside. Following this loss, Edge demanded he get his rematch next week, upon being granted it however, a bonus stipulation was added stating that the winner would be champion but no longer a part of the 2017 Royal Rumble match.
The following week, their match was altered, as to ensure that Edge would not just get himself disqualified, the match would now see the winner take both the Intercontinental Championship and the Royal Rumble spot, the match also had a surprise third participant added, revealed to be Neville. The match saw Neville pin Edge off of a Red Arrow, meaning that Edge lost his place in the Royal Rumble Match. On February 27th, Edge got a rematch against Neville for the championship, losing the matchup and ending their feud.
