CM Punk is a former wrestler in the WTX Universe. He has held a total of 6 championships throughout his career in the WTX Universe. He was the first ever WWE Champion. He is a 1-time United States Champion, a 1-time NXT Champion, a 1-time World Heavyweight Champion and a 3-time WWE Champion. He is the only man currently to have held all three brands world championships.
WWE Champion & United States Champion (2012)
On January 29th 2012 CM Punk was declared the first ever WWE Champion, he was made to defend the championship in his debut match on the debut show, Royal Rumble 2012, in a Submission Match against Shawn Michaels. The two had a long match in which CM Punk won making Michaels tap out to his Anaconda Vice submission hold.
Following this CM Punk would be on the losing end of a match with World Heavyweight Champion The Rock on the February 20th 2012 edition of Raw, the match caused CM Punk to be injured, keeping him off of Raw until Wrestlemania XXVII in which he defended his championship successfully against one of Raw's biggest upcoming stars, Batista.
Punk next defended his championship at Extreme Rules in a Triple Threat Steel Cage Match that featured two of his former PPV singles opponents, Batista & Shawn Michaels. Punk retained the championship during this match by escaping the cage whilst Batista was hitting a Batista Bomb on Michaels.
At Over The Limit a Armaggeddon Hell in a Cell Match took place that featured WWE Champion CM Punk defend his championship against Daniel Bryan, Shawn Michaels, Batista, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin & The Rock. The match ended with Bryan making Michaels submit, ending Punk's 112 day WWE Championship reign.
After losing his WWE Championship Punk was knocked out of the title hunt with Austin taking his place. Punk then moved on to challenging the United States Champion Mason Ryan, who Punk had defeated multiple times before. At No Way Out Punk was given a United States Championship shot against Ryan, defeating Ryan for the championship to win his only United States Championship to date. Punk defended his championship against Austin Aries at Money in the Bank, giving Aries his first lost. He followed this up at SummerSlam with a quick title retention over Aries' future tag partner Bobby Roode. Punk then lost the championship in a 6-man battle royal to Kurt Angle at Night of Champions. Punk faced Angle in a rematch at Hell in a Cell but was unsuccessful in regaining his championship. At Bragging Rights, Punk teamed with Stone Cold & The Undertaker to represent Raw against SmackDown, with the winning team being promised future championship opportunities, Punk, Stone Cold & Undertaker won a clean sweep against SmackDowns team.
The following night, to kick off Season 2 of WTX Universe, Punk, Austin & Undertaker competed in a Fatal 4-Way Match also featuring former WWE Champion Kane, the match was for the WWE Championship that was vacated following Austin Aries' victory at Bragging Rights in which he left the company as champion. The match was won by Kane. Punk had another opportunity at the championship at TLC, in a 4-Way Extreme Rules Match, with the match being won by Aries.
Second WWE Championship Reign, NXT Champion, ECW Takeover (2013)
To start 2013, Punk engaged in a series of matches with Aries, exchanging wins and losses, the two collided at Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship, with Punk defeating Aries to win his second championship. Punk's second reign quickly ended three weeks later when he lost the championship to Kane at Elimination Chamber. At WrestleMania II, Punk competed in an Armageddon Hell in a Cell for the Hardcore Championship, the match was won by Drew McIntyre, however.
On the draft edition of NXT, Ted DiBiase Jr. defeated The Miz to get a draft pick for NXT from Raw, as a result, CM Punk was drafted from Raw to NXT. Punk quickly began pursuing the NXT Championship, losing to champion Samoa Joe at Backlash.
Punk and Joe were then scheduled to have a non-title rematch on the May 4th edition of NXT, however, the match was cancelled as both Punk & Joe were ambushed by Rhyno. The next week, Joe was scheduled to face Rhyno with CM Punk as guest referee, however, the main event was once again cancelled when Rhyno attacked both Punk & Joe in the backstage area. At Extreme Rules, Punk, Joe & Rhyno faced off in a Triple Threat Match, with Punk defeating Joe to become the new NXT Champion.
The following week on the May 22nd edition of NXT, Punk faced Joe in a rematch, before the match could begin, the ring was filled by Rhyno, Tommy Dreamer & Raven, the three teased attacking Punk, then turned and beat down Samoa Joe, they then handed Punk the ECW Championship, indicating that ECW had taken over NXT.
At Cyber Sunday, Punk lost the championship back to Joe, following Rob Van Dam (who was guest referee) betraying ECW and helping Joe win. Van Dam later commented that he did not want to see ECW brought back and did not support Punk as the face of ECW.
At SummerSlam, Punk teamed with Rhyno & Mankind to face Team NXT, with the added stipulation that if Team ECW won, the ECW takeover would succeed, if they lost, they would be fired. At the event, Team ECW lost.
World Heavyweight Champion & Third WWE Championship Reign (2013-2014)
At Night of Champions, CM Punk made his return, moving to SmackDown, he defeated The Rock to become World Heavyweight Champion. At Over The Limit, Punk defeated The Rock again in their rematch. At Hell in a Cell, Punk retained the championship against Brock Lesnar, using Lesnar's weak stomach to cheat a win. At Survivor Series, the two faced off again, with Punk beating Lesnar again, this time via submission.
At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, CM Punk retained the championship again, this time against Goldberg in an Extreme Rules Match. At Royal Rumble, Punk faced Goldberg and former rival Brock Lesnar again, as well as former ally Rhyno, in a Fatal 4-Way Match, pinning Goldberg to retain the championship. At No Way Out, Punk defended his championship inside of the Elimination Chamber, last eliminating Goldberg following a GTS, he was the only champion in the event to retain his championship.
At WrestleMania III, CM Punk faced the 2014 Royal Rumble winner, Wade Barrett, losing to Barrett in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match. At Backlash, Punk quickly rebounded, defeating The Undertaker to win the WWE Championship for a third time following a Super Kick from Shawn Michaels to Undertaker, after Michaels had interfered in the match. At Judgment Day, Punk had a rematch with Undertaker as well as Michaels, with Punk defeating Michaels via submission to retain. At Money in the Bank, Punk lost the championship to The Miz, who had won a 16-Man Tournament to earn an opportunity at Punk and the championship. At Unforgiven, Punk lost his rematch to The Miz in a Last Man Standing match.
On November 7th, Punk returned to the WTX Universe, this time on the SmackDown brand, winning a contenders match for the WWE Championship. At Survivor Series, Punk lost his WWE Championship match to defending champion Brock Lesnar.
Championship Pursuits (2015)
On February 13th, Punk won a Triple Threat to become the new contender for the United States Championship. At No Way Out, Punk challenged Kurt Angle for the championship, losing via pinfall. At King of the Ring, Punk got another opportunity, bringing backup in Baron Corbin, Punk was still unable to defeat Angle for the championship. At WrestleMania IV, Punk lost to Angle a third time for the championship once again. At Cyber Sunday, Punk challenged for the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Kofi Kingston, losing to the champions Jeri-Show.
Return & Draft to NXT (2016)
After months of near inactivity throughout late 2015 and early 2016, Punk resurfaced on March 24th, attacking United States Champion John Cena, who Punk then went on to lose to. Following WrestleMania V, Punk made his return to NXT as part of the 2016 Draft. He competed in his first match back on NXT on the May 4th edition, losing to Sami Zayn in a competitive match. The two had a Submission Match at TakeOver: Dallas, with Punk winning with the Anaconda Vice. A rematch took place on July 6th, expected to be their final match, Punk defeated Zayn after knocking him out with a short-arm lariat for the pinfall.
