Bobby Roode is a member of the SmackDown brand as of 2017. He is a four time championship, having held the Hardcore Championship once as well as being a 2-time WWE Champion and the current reigning World Heavyweight Champion.


Debut (2012)

Bobby Roode made his WTX Universe debut on the June 29th 2012 edition of SmackDown in a Fatal 4-Way that also featured the debut of Samoa Joe & D'Angelo Dinero the match ended with Jeff Hardy getting the win. At SummerSlam 2012, Roode was given his first championship opportunity as he challenged United States Champion, CM Punk in a losing effort. At Night of Champions, Roode was given his first world championship match, in which he defeated The Undertaker to become WWE Champion. He lost the championship quickly afterwards to Kane in an Armageddon Hell in a Cell Match at Hell in a Cell. Roode had a rematch at Bragging Rights, however, the match was won by Austin Aries, who exited the company with the championship following his victory.

At TLC, Roode was given an opportunity for the United States Championship but was unsuccessful as the match was won by Kurt Angle. At WrestleMania II, Roode lost a 6-Man Battle Royal for the United States Championship & Intercontinental Championship, the match was won by MVP.

NXT (2013-2015)

On the Draft edition of SmackDown, Raw's Austin Aries lost to NXT's Tyson Kidd, leading to Roode being drafted from Raw to NXT. After several months of losing, on the June 11th edition of NXT, Roode defeated Batista to become Hardcore Champion. On July 2nd, Roode lost the championship to Corey GravesAt Unforgiven, Roode challenged Bray Wyatt for the NXT Championship, getting completely destroyed and losing the match.

On the February 11th 2015 edition of NXT, Roode won a Fatal 4-Way to earn a future shot at the NXT Championship. The following week, Roode lost to Batista in their championship match. On March 11th, Roode won a Battle Royal to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania IVAt WrestleMania IV, Roode lost the Money in the Bank ladder match to Sting.

WWE Champion (2015)

In April of 2015, Roode was drafted from NXT to RAW as part of the 2015 Supplemental Draft. In June, Roode moved from RAW to the new ECW brand, on June 30th, he challenged and defeated Sting in a ladder match for Sting's Money in the Bank contract, making Roode the new holder of the contract. At SummerSlam, Roode cashed in the contract on Ryback, who had been through both, a match against Sheamus in which he retained, and a post-match chokeslam from The Undertaker, giving Roode the easy victory for the championship, making Roode a 2-time WWE Champion. At Cyber Sunday, Roode got his first retention, defeating The Undertaker, Sheamus & Ryback. ANight of Champions, Roode lost the championship when he was made to go one-on-one with The Undertaker. At Survivor Series, Roode got a rematch against Undertkaer, getting completely dominated once again in much quicker fashion.

ECW (2016)

In April, Bobby Roode was drafted to SmackDown as part of the 2016 Draft. He made his ECW return on June 3rd, competing in a contenders battle royal for the ECW Television Championship, the match was won by Son of Havoc.

World Heavyweight Champion (2016-2017)

At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Roode defended his championship against Rey Mysterio in a TLC Match, the match saw Roode throw Mysterio and himself off of a ladder with a Death Valley Driver, after which Roode recovered quickly and retrieved the championship hung above the ring.

At Royal Rumble, Roode lost the championship, getting dominated and defeated by Baron Corbin, who pinned Roode following two End of Days finishers.
